Mary Robinson, 1960s

Mary R. Robinson (1927-2020) was the first Dean of Women at the American University of Beirut (1960–1969). Educated at Duke, Columbia, and Harvard, she managed student life, advised students, and coordinated crisis responses, including the evacuation of foreign students during the 1967 June War. Her papers offer valuable insight into higher education for women in 1960s Lebanon and her pioneering role in supporting female students.
