Khalil Hawi (1919–1982) was one of the most famous Lebanese poets of the 20th century and AUB professor of Arabic. He attended the American University of Beirut, graduating with distinction, which earned him a scholarship to the University of Cambridge in the UK, where he obtained his PhD. He then returned to Lebanon to work as a professor at the American University of Beirut, a position he held until his death in 1982. He authored six poetry collections, and several of his poems were performed by renowned singers, including Marcel Khalife. The collection is important for researchers interested in Calligraphy and modern Arabic poetry.
خليل حاوي (1919– 1982) شاعر لبناني. التحق بالجامعة الأمريكية في بيروت وتخرج منها بتفوق، ما مكنه من الحصول على منحة للالتحاق بجامعة كامبردج البريطانية، حيث نال شهادة الدكتوراه وعاد بعدها إلى لبنان ليعمل أستاذًا في الجامعة الأميركية واستمر في هذا العمل حتى وفاته عام 1982. له 6 دواوين شعرية وغنى له عدد من المطربين المعروفين كمارسيل خليفة. المجموعة مهمة للباحثين المهتمين بالشعر العربي الحديث.
