Emily Fares Ibrahim, (1914-2011), was an American born Lebanese writer, poet, and feminist. She was the first woman to run for the parliamentary elections in Lebanon (1953) and was a notable face of the Lebanese Social Movement. She headed the National Mobilization Committee, established in 1982, as well as the National Council of Women. The Collection consists of photos, correspondence and audiovisuals, etc. and is important for researchers interested in gender studies and women both in politics and social work.
إميلي فارس إبراهيم (1914-2011)، كاتبة وشاعرة ونسوية أميركية المولد لبنانية الجنسية. كانت وجهًا بارزًا في الحركة الاجتماعية اللبنانية وأول امرأة تترشح للانتخابات البرلمانية في لبنان (1953). ترأست لجنة التعبئة الوطنية التي أُنشئت عام 1982، وكذلك المجلس الوطني للمرأة. تضم المجموعة صورًا، مراسلات، ومواد سمعية بصرية وغيرها، وهي ذات أهمية كبيرة للباحثين المهتمين بدراسات النوع الاجتماعي ودور المرأة في السياسة والعمل الاجتماعي.
