Dar al-Fata al-Arabi was established in Beirut in 1974 and later moved to Cairo, where it operated until 1994. It is a prominent publishing house for children’s and youth literature in the Arab world. Founded by Arab intellectuals, writers, and artists, its mission was to reflect Arab culture, address the interests of young readers, and promote cultural and national values. The publishing house specialized in fostering cultural and historical awareness, producing over 220 titles across 25 series on topics such as Arab heritage, Palestinian culture, children’s issues and international literature. Renowned for its high-quality design and engaging storytelling, the publishing house played a significant role in preserving Palestinian identity through works addressing Palestinian issues, Jerusalem, and culture. The Dar collection includes its administrative and financial archives, 400 original artworks by its illustrators, posters, children’s books, and stories published between 1974 and 1994, as well as films and mock-ups illustrating the stages of book production.
تأسست دار الفتى العربي في بيروت عام 1974، انتقلت الى القاهرة وأكملت عملها هناك حتى عام 1994. هي دار نشر بارزة لأدب الأطفال والشباب في العالم العربي. أسسها مثقفون وكتاب وفنانون عرب، وهدفت إلى عكس الثقافة العربية، ومخاطبة اهتمامات القراء الشباب، وتعزيز القيم الثقافية والوطنية، تخصصت دار النشر في تنمية الوعي الثقافي والتاريخي، وإطلاع الناشئة على الأدب العالمي. ونشرت أكثر من 220 عنوانًا في 25 سلسلة. شملت موضوعاتها التراث العربي والثقافة الفلسطينية وقضايا الأطفال. اشتهرت دار النشر بتصميمها عالي الجودة وسردها الجذاب، كما لعبت دورًا رئيسيًا في الحفاظ على الهوية الفلسطينية من خلال الأعمال التي تناولت القضية الفلسطينية والقدس والثقافة. تتضمن مجموعة دار الفتى العربي الأرشيف الإداري والمالي للدار بالإضافة لأربعمائة لوحة أصلية من رسومات الفنانين كما تتضمن ملصقات وكتب وقصص الأطفال التي صدرت عن الدار بين عامي 1974-1994.مع مجموعة من الأفلام والماكيتات التي تبين مراحل عملية إنتاج كتب الدار. هي مهمة للمهتمين بالثقافة وكتب الأطفال الهادفة.
