Yet another series, Maktabat al-Tarikh (The Historical Library), aimed at shedding a new light on key junctures of Arab history. The series description reads: “[This series] presents [Arab history] as a march towards resisting foreign occupation and external control. The history in this series is not that of rulers, it is the history of peoples and how they went about life given the dangers that threatened [them] . . . youth will see [in this history] an image of the people to which they belong, a honest image capturing the pulse of its resistance and strong will that has never been defeated by an oppressor or enemy.”
