Opera

Opera performances brought another dimension of international performance to Baalbeck, placing large-scale vocal and theatrical productions within the monumental architecture of the Roman temples. In 2025, Carmen, an opera in four acts by the French composer Georges Bizet, was performed; directed by Jorge Takla and conducted by Toufic Maatouk. These productions demonstrated the Festival’s ambition to present major international artistic traditions to Lebanese audiences.
