INTRODUCTION
This exhibition is part of Baalbeck Festival Week at AUB, a three-event program celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Baalbeck International Festival and its lasting contribution to the musical and cultural life of Lebanon and the region.
Organized as a collaboration between the Baalbeck International Festival (BIF), the AUB Zaki Nassif Program (ZNPM), and the AUB University Libraries, this program brings together an exhibition, a seminar, and a concert. Through archival collections, scholarly discussion, and live performance, the three events explore different dimensions of Baalbeck’s artistic legacy and its continuing influence.
The exhibition, presented at Jafet Memorial Library, primarily draws on materials from the AUB Archives and Special Collections Department and the Baalbeck International Festival Archives, offering a journey through the Festival’s history, its artists and performances, and its enduring place in Lebanon’s cultural memory.
