First Graduating Class in Commerce, 1902-1903
In 1900, the University established the Department of Commerce to provide formal business training leading to a certificate in commerce. Under the leadership of Edward Nickoley, the program quickly developed, leading to a structured three-year curriculum.
First graduates with a Certificate in Commerce (Com. Cer.) (1902) were Athanasus Casulli; Michael Casulli; Vita Gabbay ; Zaki Kamar ; Said Khuri , Tawfik Mashakah. The First graduates with a Bachelor in Commerce (B.C.) (1903) were: Michel Abcarius, Eli Dana, Michel Ditkeforr, Mordecai Elstein, Leon Farhi, Michel Kfuri, Nearchos Papas.
