Daniel Bliss was honored by the AUB administration and alumni through granting him the Doctor of Law (L.L.D) in 1916, naming a building after him, by commissioning a statue, and by starting a new medal in his name, and started a society in his name.

This building was named in honor of AUB founding father Reverend Daniel Bliss and completed in 1900. In its early days, the upper two floors of the hall served as a dormitory, while the first two floors were occupied by classrooms of the Preparatory School. Completely restored and refurbished in the 1990s, it now houses the Departments of Computer Science and Mathematics.

The SPC alumni of Egypt and Sudan commissioned the marble statue of Daniel Bliss and the Italian sculptor Signor Bacci built it. On May 6, 1904, the unveiling ceremony took place at the Assembly Hall. The statue was placed in College Hall Library for several years, then moved to Jafet Memorial Library Reading Room, then to Bliss Hall, and in 2012 it was restored and placed near the entrance of College Hall.

Daniel Bliss Order, the highest honor the AUB Alumni Association can bestow, was instituted in 1949 during the tenure of the late Sheikh Said Taky Deen as president of the Alumni Association and named after the first president of AUB. It is awarded "to persons who have rendered signal service and or made generous contributions for the purpose of advancing the interests and promoting the welfare of the American University of Beirut and its Alumni Association.” The medal has been awarded to Steve Bechtel; Philip Hitti; John C. Case, chairperson of the Board of Trustees; former AUB Presidents Bayard Dodge and J. Paul Leonard; Fadlo Hourani, Sheikh Abdallah Salim al-Sabbah; Nami Jafet and many others.[7]

The Daniel Bliss Society was set up in 1986. Its mission is to enhance academic and faculty programs, laboratories, libraries, student services, and financial aid awards. Daniel Bliss Society members attend special university events held regionally and nationally.
