Anthony Shadid Collection (1968 - 2012)

The Shadid collection comprises approximately 10 linear feet of archival material including notebooks, papers, and related records covering Shadid’s work as a journalist and foreign correspondent for over two decades in Iraq, Libya, Egypt, Palestine, Syria, and Lebanon.

Anthony Shadid was a two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning foreign correspondent. Over the course of his career, Shadid worked at the Associated Press, the Boston Globe, the Washington Post, and the New York Times.This collection is a valuable source of information for scholars interested in media studies, journalism and foreign correspondence, the history and politics of the modern Middle East, Middle Eastern studies, diaspora studies, and Arab-American relations.

 Ms. Nada Bakri entrusted the AUB Libraries with the collection, in support of grassroots journalism from and about the region, in memory of Mr. Shadid.
