Consumerism

What better medium to poke fun at, reinforce, and/or criticize the wave of consumerism as a recipe for happiness which have plagued Arab States, like many other states, in our modern age, than comics? From making fun of the Cinderella/ Snow White dream of unhappiness being solved through purchase of a specific brand of laundry detergent to the slogan featured prominently "Consumerism is happiness", comics have their way to capture the pulse of the time, to debunk contemporary myths, live up to their reputation of "counter-culture" and urge us to see beyond the common horizon!
